Quicksilver Central
« on: October 08, 2018, 10:51:40 AM »

Okay folks, this post is to help develop and promote understanding in my developing alternate universe for the Clans.

I have limited internet access this week due to my location but I've already got a lot done. Working on aerospace fighters and a book currently.

Question for you guys is what would u like know about Quicksilver and the Clans as of now.

Just to confirm Quicksilver diverts from canon June 3052 when Hanse "wakes" from his nightmare correct? Operation Scorpion happened Waterly was assassinated etc.

A short timeline might makes things easier for us.

Only things i recall different so far is new sakhan for Jaguars, new coyote khans upcoming and was it Diamond Shark also? Something happened at Nyserta but dont recall those ramifications.

Then of course are the trials themselves

Quite right Bradshaw!

I am working on a book detailing all of these things this week. Writing at the cabin is phenomenal and i am finally getting that relaxation my other vacation failed to deliver on.

A timeline shall be added to this tome. A very useful add certainly.

The Battle of Nyserta or our battle of five armies is going to be included. Can u describe from ur recollection the struggle between the Sharks, Bears, Wolves, Mercs working for ComStar and bandits over the Star League cache? I've got limited internet here after all.

I am currently working on an outline for the Clans and reviewing all data.

First thing to be remarked on for each is reaction to Tukkayid and Operation Scorpion.

There is also an anti-Warden backlash which follows the Truce most notably in the Fire Mandrill Clan.

Would anyone like to comment on this for the book?

“When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal.”
--Ancient Terran Proverb

"Though the thought of defeat never entered the minds of our Clan brethren we must acknowledge the fact that we were in fact defeated. We must abide by this truce, though the Spheroids have shown their lack of honor, especially with this recent attempted revolt on many of the invading clans worlds, we will not tarnish our own honor in turn.

We shall build our strength and with the information gained over the past few years we shall wipe away the losses of our past. We must harden our troops while sapping their strength on worlds coreward of the truce-line.

We hope that the ilKhan will assemble a new Kurultai and listen to our words and advice, as the son of the Great Father listened to the sage advice of our founder we hope to form a grand strategy to include all Clans that shall allow us to tread the hallowed grounds of Terra."

"I am confused on this anti-warden backlash I have seen recently in the Homeworlds. Is it not the Crusaders that were the slowest in the Invasion, and was is not the Crusaders and their ideals that failed on Tukayyid. The Crusaders should be careful in their blame as arrogance is a self-defense tactic to disguise ones insecurities. "

Very nice qoutes Bradshaw, they'd be a nice addition. One for each Clan. Could even make a competition out of it if you like?

Actually Cloud Cobra and Snow Raven probably understand the backlash probably better than other politically unified Clans. They are both Wardens with active Crusader minorities.

Wardens speaking out in favor of the Truce or just known to espouse those beliefs are being met by greivances large and small from Crusaders pissed about the Truce.

“With the unfortunate deaths of so many of our Warriors and the Khan’s disgrace we need to right our own ship first.  Alpha and Omega must be rebuilt as soon as possible, less other Clans smell blood in the water.  And then, with our brother Clans rebuilding, the sky is the limit for what we can achive and how much profit we can make.  We can open up our reserve caches to rebuild Omega and shuffle their Mech’s to Alpha.  These caches can then be used to trade with the Invaders and we already have the Jaguars all but pleading for anything we can trade, and we are able to set our own terms.  We have been handed an opportunity, one we must seize with both hands.

Nice marauder648, but the circumstances for this qoute maybe far different in this setting. Labov is killed luring more opposition (pirates followed by Clan Wolf but the gambit also attracts a mercenary outfit working for ComStar) to Nyserta in search of a Star League cache. Take a look at the Battle of Nyserta link below;

Oh damn I didn't know he died thats a heavy blow to the Sharks.

err.... I guess I should I didn't remember as I took part in that battle lol. I think I didn't know his significance until I refreshed myself with canon over these past few months.

I thought it was a fair price to pay. The successful defense of Nyserta allows the Sharks to maintain their sole InnerSphere (Periphery) possession and rebuild Omega Galaxy overnight (Bear isorla and the Silent Tigers joining the Clan). Plus you get rid of Ian Hawker in the duel that followed with Jonathan Clarke. So while Labov is a loss to the Sharks certainly his sacrifice here setup a far more rapid rebuild.

Should you get a subfolder in Alternate History and have all the Quicksilver stuff moved into there?
