Well folks only one more cut to make and I want your input. For the 65 ton Vampire (Assailant) bracket we have two competitors.
First up we have the venerable Hellbringer (aka Loki) manufactured by the Hell’s Horses which mounts a 325 XL engine (5/8) along with 13 integral double heat sinks. Pod space is 28.5 tons which is not too bad, works out to almost 44 percent of total mass reserved for weapons and equipment. Personally I am a big cause I see a lot of my favorite BattleMech of all time, the Warhammer, in this one. However, this design first produced in 2926 is showing its age. With only 8 tons of standard armor plate which produces a lowly 128 armor factor this Clan classic has become increasingly vulnerable. To max out the armor protection you would need another 5 tons of armor! So while sacrificing armor for firepower is very Vampirish has this OmniMech outlived its life cycle? It is important to note that this is Hell's Horses only manufactured canon OmniMech and discontinuing it would leave a viable Clan without a design in the Quicksilver fight.
The challenger is the brand new Ebon Jaguar (Cauldron-Born) manufactured by the Smoke Jaguars to replace the Hellbringer in 3049. It also mounts a 325 XL engine (5/8) along with 13 integral double heat sinks but goes tosses in an EndoSteel structure and Ferro Fibrous armor. This eats up far more critical space (14) compared to the Hellbringer but provides extra weight for armor and weapons. With 30 tons of pod space it can out carry its would be forerunner slightly and has superior armor protection, 9.5 tons with a 182 armor factor. This would be the 5th design produced by the Jaguars under the Quicksilver Program but can they afford it? We know this Clan's resources have grown scarce and reducing their production load may benefit the Clans as a whole.
Who should win? Who will win? What do you think??
