Dragonkind
Sun Tzu and Isis built on their renewal of the Concord of Kapetyn with an announcement seeking Draconis to aid her rightful claim to the Atrean throne. While no response ever came from Luthien neither likely suspected any direct aid from House Kurita but rather send a powerful symbolic message to would be allies. Generous support went to any Combine native who joined their cause and despite a low initial turnout enough supporters were gathered to form a small mercenary unit called the Dragonkind. This BattleMech company which operates in support of the main advance hopes to grow larger with future recruitment and aid from other Draconians. Given that the quality and reputation of these warriors is dubious to say the least such expansion maybe unfeasible but only time will tell.

Third general ask here could I base units off some of these for my own AU? Merc units are handy

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

The more the merrier Dragon Cat!

Please give me a little about your unit such as a roster or its size, commander, place of origin, history, base (Outreach, Galatea, other), and perhaps a clue of what you'd like to see them doing in the wars to come. You know how I like a little fluff. ;)

I sure don't mind crossovers if you don't DC.

The Doom Warriors look good Doc, do you have a little fluff?

Is this what you need?
Doom Warriors

Well this is a group of "Mercs/Pirates/Rebels", is a group who has to look up to Wilson's Hussars.

Commanded by Col. Vernon Nillsson in his Warhammer 6D, he served in the Lryan Military.  Okay really Capt. Vernon Nillsson but Col sound better as a Merc spent his time in the 3rd Lyran Regulars, before getting out and with his Sgt Max Zetta set out to form a Merc Unit.  They have grown/expanded and shrunk with who they can recruit/contracts need.

The unit has never gotten "big name status" or that big contract.  It might help if Vernon didn't trust him and Max to read the contract for fine print.  You won't find any perfect mech here most are fixed with whatever can fit in the place.

Their Infantry is mostly outfited to be moved by dirt bikes and either function as base security or light raiders.  Not sure if I would trust them not to liberate anything not nailed down where they are assigned

Technicals.  For real bottom-of-the-barrel and Mad Max aesthetic, you want technicals  8)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technical_(vehicle)

Might be cheaper to maintain than a fleet of dirt bikes, and also allows you to transport your heavier infantry 'support' weapons, while still counting as mechanized infantry.

Thanks for the additional info Doc on the Doom Warriors.

Interesting idea fabulousorcboy. I'd probably think that such equipment would be more common as militia weaponry than mercs.

Oh, technicals are definitely the ideal militia weapon.  But their super low-end cost is also ideal for emphasizing just how low-budget a merc outfit like (for example) the Doom Warriors really are.  Plus, if you're motivated, you can really pack quite a few light trucks into a very tight space, like a garage, or one corner of a warehouse or shipyard, or the interior of a dropship.  It helps that as light trucks, you can pile a lot of cr... gear on the bed of the truck  8)

I always picture the rebels fighting the Terran Alliance with such improvised weapons and vehicles.

Sanderson's Lance

This unit originates from the original Star League era from the world of Wynn's Roost in the Outworlds Alliance.  During the years they have traveled through the Draconis Combine to their present location in the Lyran Commonwealth and they haven't looked back.  Gone are the days when the unit was filled with primitive BattleMechs and now it sports a single lance of modern BattleMechs which specialize in raiding operations.

The unit has two DropShips the ancient Ormen Lange dates back to the first Star League era, as does its two escort fighters two Vulcan craft.  The Zeemeeuw, a Condor-class vessel, is of newer construction and carries the majority of the unit's infantry and dependents.

While the "Zee" could carry 12 platoons of infantry the unit only ever fields six and mostly in security/base defence and construction roles.  The twenty vehicles carried are made up of Infantry Support vehicles and vehicles used to either house or transport their support staff when they are separated from their DropShips.

Ormen Lange, Leopard-class DropShip

Lieutenant Tom Sanderson Phoenix Hawk
MechWarrior Sarah Hoffmann Dervish
MechWarrior Lilly Aspell Wasp
MechWarrior Gianpietro Comotti Stinger

Pilot Jin So-joo VLC-3M Vulcan
Pilot Zhao So-joo VLC-3M Vulcan

Zeemeeuw, Condor-class DropShip
20 Vehicles

Just found this future canon one today while researching Andurien worlds and thought I'd add it here. I like the concept I must say.

Ogoun's Machete (‘Mech company)
This indigenous BattleMech company was long an unknown factor on the quiet rocky world of Siendou. This resource rich planet was colonized during the height of the Star League by Senegalese settlers who established a constitutional theocracy in the Duchy of Andurien. Their global faith known as Siva Lwa prohibits service in a national military and so most outsiders presume this mining world has no defenders. This assumption went unchallenged until the Third Marik Civil War when a small bandit group, Harper’s Renegades, attempted to raid Siendou. To their shock the were quickly set upon by this previously unidentified force of native Mechwarriors. Harper and his men were soundly defeated by these Siva Lwa adherents who demonstrated for all that practicing warfare as a trade is not forbidden by their religion. Despite their surprising appearance none have dared approach them yet about an outside contract since they are unregistered as mercenaries. Negotiators are wary to approach them as regular soldiers of fortune fearing it may be offensive to the unit or their religion. It could be more accurate to describe them as a private military force who defends Siendou from threats.
