Devon LeFabre's mother was from the Lyran Commonwealth while his father was from the Rim Worlds Republic. He would accompany them both into the Deep Periphery during the Exodus. Graduating among the first enlistee class after the Exodus, LeFabre was noted for not only his tech skills, but also his 'Mech piloting ability. Originally assigned to the 342nd Royal BattleMech Division, his managerial skills and natural leadership instincts would soon gain him the notice of his superiors. Later transferred to Nicholas Kerensky's own 146th Royal BattleMech Division, he would rise to the rank of First Sergeant by the time of the Second Exodus.[1]

Continuing to focus on BattleMech Divisions which in canon took part in the Exodus (35 in total) I have further broken down these commands into the following categories.

Kerensky Loyalists (11) [leaving with the Exodus]
238th Armored Division (Lena and Simas Osis)
11th Royal BattleMech Division (David Rippon and Daniel Mattlov)
81st BattleMech Division (Goliath Scorpion)
131st BattleMech Division (Ellie Kinnison)
146th Royal BattleMech Division (several)
149th BattleMech Division (Absalom Truscott)
316th Royal BattleMech Division (Tchernovkovs)
328th Royal BattleMech Division (Clan Wolf)
331st Royal BattleMech Division (Clan Wolverine)
341st Royal BattleMech Division (Clan Wolf)
342nd Royal BattleMech Division (Devon LeFabre)

Partial Exodus Commands (2)
250th BattleMech Division (the Stalingrad Division)
275th BattleMech Division (the Altair Division)

No Terran Connection (6) [most likely Exodus]
89th BattleMech Division (the Cyclops Division) Capellan Confederation
116th BattleMech Division (the Gargantua Division) Federated Suns
168th BattleMech Division (the Czar Peter Division) Draconis Combine
189th BattleMech Division (the Marshal Ney Division) Capellan Confederation
308th BattleMech Division (the Punjab Pass Division) Lyran Commonwealth
382nd BattleMech Division (the Westmoreland Division) Periphery

Nickname Connection ( 8 ) [tenuous ties to specific Terran worlds]
15th BattleMech Division (the Bryant Division) Free Worlds League
154th BattleMech Division (the Small World Division) Federated Suns
173rd BattleMech Division (the New Earth Division) Federated Suns
218th BattleMech Division (the Quentin Division) Capellan Confederation
229th BattleMech Division (the Chara Division) Lyran Commonwealth
271st BattleMech Division (the Outreach Division) Periphery
275th BattleMech Division (the Altair Division) Free Worlds League
315th BattleMech Division Division (the Yorrii Division) Outworlds Alliance

Pre-War Garrison Connection (1) [multi-national makeup, stationed in the Hegemony 2765]
164th BattleMech Division (the Hannibal Division) Terran Hegemony [Lyons]

Royal Terran Commands (3) [staffed exclusively by Terrans]
299th Royal BattleMech Division (the Protector Division) Draconis Combine
309th Royal BattleMech Division (the Black Charger Division) Capellan Confederation
349th Royal BattleMech Division (the King Henry Division) Draconis Combine

Royal Terran Commands with Nickname Connections (4) [entirely Terran with tenuous ties to specific Terran worlds]
26th Royal BattleMech Division (the Graham Division) Federated Suns
39th Royal BattleMech Division (the Denebola Division) Federated Suns
135th Royal BattleMech Division (the Van Diemen Division) Draconis Combine
150th Royal BattleMech Division (the Rigil Kentaurus Division) Capellan Confederation

Further Research Required (1)
While the 71st BMD (the Outreach Division) is likely the 271st BMD (the Outreach Division) which is listed on the sarna list I want to review FM SLDF to see if this was a double listing in the Star League SB which was corrected by something else.

I don't know where you got the 71st BMD anyway in the original Star League book they are listed as the 271st as well.

Is it a double listing in the SLSB? If so I want to look at FM SLDF for both parent units to see  if one was replaced.

There's the 71st Royal Brigade which is part of the 7th Royal BMD and the 71st Infantry Division (FM SLDF)

both destroyed during Hegemony conflict

I am also gathering information, requests, and your input for an Exodus Redux story which would take place on February 14th, 2784 in that Empty Wooden Warehouse on Terra.

Commanding General Aleksandr Kerensky [I wanted to better or best explain his motivations for leaving and his utter devotion to the Star League - he takes a lot of undeserved heat for abandoning the Terran Hegemony and the InnerSphere]

General Aaron DeChavilier
Star League High Command (15, those who survived the Coup)
Admiral Janos Grec (Director of the Naval Command)
General Sergey Araujo (Director of the JAG Command, escaped Terra)
General Kim Hyong Suk (Director of the Rep-Dep Command, escaped Terra)

More than one hundred (100) division commanders and an equal number of lesser officers crowed in

Major General Lauren Hayes, commander of the 151st

Regent Amanda Cameron [She will not be First Lord but her place is here on Terra, she endorses General Kerensky's plan, probably will refer to retired SLDF officers like Ian Sinclair, Joan Brandt, and Jack Lucas ready to commit to Terra's defense]

Unwarranted? The man fled his post and convinced others to flee as well...it was bad enough in canon but now its even worse. Think of the common man who would think that he was abandoned by the majority of their armed services.

The only reason I think Amanda might support it is that she might feel threatened by having someone like him over her should second guessing anything she might say.

Kerensky was not a common man however. He could have struck at the House Lords but did not. He had high ideals that sadly were all too uncommon.

The SLDF remaining just makes things worse not better.

Amanda is more of a realist but understands that some part of the dream of the Star League must survive the great conflagration that is to come.

Got bored at work so reading up on this part of history, which I either haven't or haven't in way too long.

It seems like it was Kerenskys own fault things went the way it did though. He would rather lead from the front lines as Commander in Chief of the entire SLDF and Regent to Richard then sit on Terra an lead from afar.

Looking at the years he became Richards regent in 2751 uprising war started in 2765 what kind of parental figure was he to Richard we now know why Nicolas was the way he was. Which is curious Nicholas was born just before the Uprising, where was he born and how did he survive it? And how was Andery, who we know was born on Terra, born a month before the Coup when his father was off in the periphery fighting in the war for nearly 2 years. Now I understand whey Nicholas killed Andery in the future.

A little late to this discussion but here's an idea for the justification of the Exodus in Shattered Dawn.

General Kerensky knew that war was inevitable. The Great Houses were not going to form a new Star League and the Terran Regency was going to have to fight for its survival against at least 2 and maybe all of the Great Houses.  In an effort to give the new state the best chance of surviving, Kerensky decided to take the bulk of the SLDF out the equation. He saw that some commands were defecting to the Great House.  You could argue that  he realized that while right now (2781-2784) he had control over the SLDF (due to a cult of personality) when open war broke out many of the soldiers would likely return to their home nations. (Clearly in canon when when removed from the IS- the SLDF broke down into their former nationalities during the SLDF Civil War)

In an effort to save his home nation (or more precisely it's successor the TR) he decided to take the bulk of the SLDF into the unknown, away from the fighting. He has no real destination in mind- just far enough away from the IS.  He has no real goal other then to get the troops to a place where they can't threaten the TR.

Maybe a number of the former Royal units stayed behind at Kerensky's command because he knew they could be trusted to serve and protect the TR.

Irose has got the idea. I don't want to give any future plans away but the destination of the Exodus is far different here (Shattered Dawn) than in canon so there is that factor as well.

Why would they defect if there still has a Terran Hegemony or a Cameron?

And Takiro, the 183 BMD isn't the Joan of Arc Division. This is the nickname of the 335th BMD.

This makes me eager to create a French Corps with Marshal Ney, the Foreign Legion units...
