Moderation

With our community forum and its membership growing, it is important to cover some of the basics. OurBattleTech.com's Bill of Rights is designed to protect the community member and the community from unscrupulous characters.

Members agree, through use of this forum, that they will not post any material which is defamatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. However, we are members of this community, so anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of the forum immediately. Our goal is to have fun and enjoy a safe environment conducive to fostering the hobby we love: BattleTech. 


Since the moderators and staff of this forum are members of this community, we reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, and the offending member if their removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

OurBattleTech.com has a three strike policy. Any member who breaks with the good faith of the community through the aforementioned means or requiring moderation of any type will be allowed three opportunities to mend their wicked, wicked ways. After a third strike however, the moderators and administrators of this forum will decide whether the member should be banned from the forum.

OurBattleTech.com does not tolerate or condone trolling, flaming, or aggressive posts of any type. We are all here to have fun. So remember what your mother told you as a child, and "Mind you P's and Q's."

Avatars

Members are allowed (and encouraged!) to personalize their forum account by selecting and uploading an individualized Avatar.

Avatars can be any of the following file types:

- JPG
- GIF
- PNG

Avatar sizes are limited to 160 pixels by 200 pixels. Avatars larger than the accepted size will be rejected by the forum. Members are reminded to keep their Avatars tasteful. OurBattleTech.com is about BattleTech and Gaming. Adult material is expressly forbidden.

Members having trouble with their Avatar or the upload process - please contact a forum Administrator for assistance.
