possible Arbitration DLC
« on: January 08, 2013, 11:46:25 AM »

High- Test, MrsArbiter and I have been kicking this around the studios for a bit, and came to an impasse.

we thought it would be cute to do SOMETHING involving the battletech animated series.  it boils down to wanting to do one of two things.  the first is making our own RiffTracks and just brutally making fun of the show and it's animation, development, limited sprites etc.

the second is a legitimate commentary on the show itself, parts we enjoyed, parts that sucked.

the basics I guess boil down to the difference between MST3K and The Nostalgia Critic.

what would you like to see?

The second. Give it a fair and balanced go, then if it fails, tear it to pieces.

You know there is something wrong with the FWL, when Word's spell check changes Impavido to Impetigo and Zechetinu to Secretion.

this is the animated series we are talking about.  I believe you mean WHEN it fails.

That depends on how you review it.  If you review it from the point of a hardened BT canon lawyer, it’s going to go down faster than a party crashing Locust at an Atlas convention.

However, if you look at what was trying to be accomplished and what the target audience was, then assess its success against those criteria, you may come up with a more balanced appraisal of the show.

the biggest fails for me have more to do with production then trying to becanon lawyers.

for example the animated Thug, Crab, and Champion  cells that never show up again even in background materiel (like landing the regiment on dustball, or mechs raised from academy scraps used to defend somerset, or I could go on.), or the colossal waste of CG resources for the Hatamoto Chi that could have been used for something like an Uller, or Nova
