First McCarron’s Command Lance

Capellan Confederation

   With their Mechs prepped the First McCarron’s Regiment augmented by several warriors from the Second and Fourth McCarron’s many of them command lances or platoons from those regiments, warriors loyal to the McCarron name and the Big Mac before any loyalties to the Capellan Chancellor or the Capellan Confederation.  “McCarron One to Bodez, status?”  Elizabeth McCarron said, she’d abandoned her Capellan rank and position, every member of this force would be loyal to themselves and the Big Mac.

   â€œWe’re all set, it’s a straight run to the DropShips.  We expect the Defence force to try and stop us but we shouldn’t find real opposition there.  The real trouble will come from the Second and Fourth Regiments, once they mobilize we will have three regiments against us, if they are able to call in a WarShip we’re dead.”

   â€œRoger that, all we can hope is my message reached McCarron Prime” she said referring to her cousin in the Federated Suns, if the Capellans turned WarShips against them there was a hope that the Federated Suns would take advantage to hurt the Capellans and save them with their own WarShip fleet, however there was no-way to ensure this would happen Elizabeth knew her sister had pull with her husband the Federated Suns Marshal of Armies but even that only went so far.  “McCarron One to Big Mac, anyone who doesn’t want to come power down and return to the bunker you won’t be harmed.  The rest of you, you know what’s at stake we will have to fight against our own people here but they have sided with the Centrella Family which is slowly destroying the nation we helped Sun-Tzu Liao build.  The Capellan Confederation is no more Capellan than it is Canopian now and we are becoming the minority, our future does not lie with this succession state perhaps it does as a mercenary.  Where this regiment, where this brigade was created, our future will be in our own hands.  Big Mac March!”  She ordered the gates opened and the entire reinforced double regiment began a March from the base.  Roughly two kilometres away a patrol from the Second Capellan Defence Force began to approach led by a Shadow Hawk, a Phoenix Hawk, a Wasp and an Archer all classic designs that had been refitted with modern technology.

   â€œStalker One to First McCarrons Regiment please state your intentions”

   â€œMcCarron One to Stalker One, we’re just out for a stroll.”  Elizabeth said closing the gap trying to buy time and range.

   â€œMcCarron One, you are not cleared to leave the base.  Reverse course, return to your defence station.”

   â€œStalker One, I apologise I didn't realize the Big Mac needed permission to walk on its own world.” Elizabeth said opening fire striking with her Emperor’s assault autocannon and her particle projection cannon cutting down the lead Shadow Hawk taking the first lance by surprise and quickly finished the downed Mech with a second strike, the surprise wouldn't continue.  Her lance mates joined in and quickly the rest of the Capellan Lance was down.

   â€œMcCarron One, we have Stealth units appearing on our flanks, Capellan markings.”

   â€œMcCarron One, we have a platoon of Saladin’s on our right flank, they appeared from no-where!  Some type of vehicle stealth.”  Another voice said the Capellan Defence Force was using some new toys to keep them from escaping.  It only reinforced to Elizabeth that this was the right move the Confederation would have in the past shared this with the McCarron's Armoured Calvary but not now not with Naomi on the throne.

   â€œMcCarron One to all commands, straight march for the Defence Force Base Nav Point Alpha, we’re going straight through.”

   â€œThat’s going to cost us” Bodez warned

   â€œHaving them at out backs will kill us, pay the cost.”  Elizabeth ordered making the call, in the distance she could see four DropShips dropping through the atmosphere.

   â€œMcCarron One, Risner One” Steven Risner her senior special forces operative said over the comm.  “The Angels never got off the ground the Defence Force have locked down the Spaceport including our DropShips our people are locked up in barracks we'll have to spring them.  We’ve scrambled comms to the Second and Fourth but they will see this fighting and most are loyal to Naomi.”

   â€œUnderstood, we’ll face it when we get there, all Big Mac units keep fighting.”  She said with her DropShips and their crews locked down and no fighters to speak of the Big Mac would soon be over-run, once the Second and Fourth Regiments joined the fight the Big Mac would be over.  But she wouldn’t be fazed by this she had to keep them moving pushing forward perhaps something would break for them.

   â€œDeep Space One to Big Mac, prepare for incoming ordinance.”  Came a new voice on the comm. system, there was no more communications or as several massive missiles flew over Elizabeth’s Mech smashing into the Capellan Defence Force’s base resulting in massive explosions including one that destroyed the base’s main gate area.  Moments later two Black Dagger OmniFighters soared past the Big Mac waggling their wings.  The Dagger was a primary OmniFighter of the Federated Suns not the Capellan Confederation.

   â€œDeep Space One identify” Elizabeth ordered as a second wave of missiles followed by a large amount of aerospace fighters followed again destroying large sections of the base.

   â€œMcCarron Actual to McCarron One, Authenticate Foxtrot-Mike-Charlie-One.”  Came a new female voice over the comm. instantly Elizabeth recognized it despite the years they’d spent apart.
   â€œCodeword: Archibald” Elizabeth replied smiling broadly Faith Steiner was amongst the new arrivals they could not stopped, “it’s good to hear from you.”  She said looking to the sky she saw the fighters were Federated Suns craft.

   â€œUnderstood, we’re working on the spaceport opening the way Charlie Formation will hold back the Second and Fourth.  You have a clear run.”  The Big Mac continued on with Davion fighters bombing runs and what appeared to be the Federated Suns new Cruise Missiles in support providing them with a massive firepower advantage over the Capellan Defence Force.

   The Big Mac powered forward through the Capellan Defence Force base and towards the Spaceport engaging the retreating Second Capellan Defence force as they moved forward not stopping for anything.  Elizabeth could see several of her Mechs falling as well but most were making it past the Capellan lines.   Ahead she could see a large force of Federated Suns forces led by a Men Shen OmniMech standing waiting for them defending the walls of the spaceport the fighting had long died down and the Federated Suns completely occupied the facility.  “Deep Strike One, to McCarron One, it's good to see you.”  The Men Shen pilot said, despite them being family Elizabeth could see the Davion Mechs supporting her cousin were all ready for the Big Mac to make a wrong move, taking down Faith Steiner would make any Capellans career and the Davion force couldn't trust this whole thing not to be a Capellan ruse.  A single false move and the Davion troops would spring into action gunning down what was left of the rebel Big Mac.

   â€œMcCarron Actual, good seeing you also, your DropShips and fighters are ready for lift, we have the John Gordon, Galax, Kathil and New Syrtis in the system providing support keeping the Capellan aerospace and DropShips at bay.”  Faith said naming a Congress-class Frigate, two Hound-class Corvettes and a Fox-class Corvette that had all been sent on this mission if the Capellan Naval forces decided to get involved they would be in serious trouble and heavily outgunned.  “Ready to leave this realm, Colonel?”  Faith asked using a mercenary regiment commander's traditional rank.

   â€œWe are, the Big Mac returns to its mercenary life.”  Elizabeth said smiling, her regiment, her people were free she did not know if they place was now with the Federated Suns but at least they were clear of Naomi's grasp.  With such a heavy naval presence in the system the Capellan Confederation refuses to engage the Federated Suns flotilla or further resist the retreat of the First McCarron’s Armoured Calvary.  Their wrath instead falls on the remaining McCarron’s Regiments on Grand Base, following a heavy vetting session from the Maskirovka the troops that remained are for the most part sent to distant, periphery, postings like rear area milita forces.

   Both remaining McCarron's Armoured Calvary units were permanently stricken from Capellan rolls also a bounty is placed on the heads of Elizabeth McCarron and Faith Steiner for their actions in removing the First McCarron’s Armoured Calvary from the Capellan Confederation.
