Hello out there. Does anyone think with the fall of the League the Taurian Concordant will bring this mech or an upgraded version back ?? :-\
-
I can guarantee you that in BTSD the Concordat will be deploying the Toro after the fall of the Star League.
-
Sadly in canon it was left to the wayside. I actually rather enjoy the Toro and thought it was a lovely little intro 'Mech.
-
I just find it amazing that in a case when Taurian stubbornness would actually benefit them- the Toro is a much better light mech then the Locust, Wasp or Stinger, that is when the people of the Concordat give up their stubborn streak.

I look forward to that story. ;)

In cannon I think the reason they didn't bring it back was really simple when they first made up the TC the toro design wasn't even thought of in terms of mechs. Now with TRO's posting designs from the past the ppl had to make up a reason why the design was never put back into production which well fine for keeping the timeline straight and all, but I'm glad the Toro in SD will be making a come back.
-
I also like the PX-4R if only because it has an AC/10. 8)
-
That is good. I am glad that design will be coming back.

But they could have said the design re-entered production after the fall of the SL and the factory was destroyed during the SW period - like the Paulina Weaponry factory on New Vandenberg. That would explain why it was not in any previous TROs/books.

They are not as smart as you are. LOL ::) :P :)

I agree Irose a whole lot but they I guess either didn't think about it or just said bah and keep it simple. Toro is 10x better then the commando they seemed to have gotten in trade but I never liked that mech much in TC armys seemed to go against what the TC's independent mind set as if they would settle for a outsiders mech and not one of there own.

I actually like the commando, especially paired with the Toro- they can cover each other's deficits. I don't think the TC would have a problem using an outsiders mech - if it was well designed and met their needs.

Exactly what I thought.

I'd agree but u could just change up the toro's weapons to a large laser and twin SRM's 4's with more armor or 6's and have a partner mech that uses almost all the same parts and is a nation pride unit as well. Tho I do wonder what other home TC mechs will appear as the right up says the toro was starting to get replaced by more advanced ones and with only one mech its really hard to say what type of build the tc would of went for back in its early days

Nice idea.
