Bull's Eye Scout Ship

Sensors: 6.5 tons

Overview:
The Bull's Eye (or as it is more commonly called the Bullseye) is the standard scout shuttle for the Concordat Navy.  As it is impossible to deploy warships and even dropships to patrol every system in the Concordat, the navy developed the Bull's Eye was developed to fill that role.  Cheap and inexpensive, the Bull's Eye has been deployed in large numbers and can be found assigned to every planetary defense flotilla and warship fleet in the Concordat.

Capabilities:
The Bull's Eye was designed to provide the Concordat with a scout ship that could patrol their systems and report and unwanted incursions.  To meet these goals, the designers developed a ship that could deploy for long periods of time, was packed with the best sensors available to the Concordat and could manage to avoid the enemy should they detect them.

The Bull's Eye is one of the fast known small craft in existence.  Faster then most dropships and even many fighters, the ship is able to escape from the enemy once they have detected them.  The biggest threat posed to the Bull's Eye is small interceptors which typically have better acceleration then the Bull's Eye.  However the large fuel tanks of the Bull's Eye allow it to burn its engines longer and as a result it can usually escape to safety.  As the ship is unarmed and only lightly armored the engines of the Bull's Eye are its only defenses.

The Bull's Eye is equipped with over 6 tons of electronic equipment, including Radar and Lidar detectors, radios, and EM sensors.  These provide the Bull's Eye with excellent detection capabilities, comparable or better then that of most dropships.

As it is not uncommon for the Bull's Eye to deploy on patrols of up to 2 weeks, the ship includes very spacious and comfortable quarters for the crew.

Deployment:
The Bull's Eye is deployed in every system of the Concordat.  They can be found operating along side planetary defense flotillas or based on defense stations and warships of the Concordat Navy.

Would the Star Runners have these in their two Small Craft bays?

They've got enough fuel for more than 16 days travel at 1 G...but no room to store food?  Half a ton for cargo would give the three-man crew 33 days of food & water, which ought to be more than enough for them, and not detract from the sensors overly much.

Still, at least you're paying attention to space recon!  Other then giving the crew some food storage, I like what you've done.  Much more crew-friendly than my small craft recon bird.

Duh... that was pretty dumb on my part- drop the sensors to 6 tons and add half a ton of cargo space.

I'm still meaning to get back to revising TRO 2800 and add small craft designs like these. Very nice!
