Snow Raven Floating Enclave
« on: July 08, 2011, 03:26:36 PM »

My first attempt at a movable structure designed for the AU appears in 3082

Whole structure:      VTOL MP2   CF:   85   Levels:      9
Crew       206      Officers      21

Overview
In 3080 Khan Lynn McKenna ordered her engineers to produce a safe habitat for Snow Raven Civilians living in the Outworlds Alliance.  In 3082 the first structure, the Lum Habitat, came online.

Capabilities
As a floating, airborne, structure the enclave is unarmored and can only travel around 22kph.  Each part of the structure is nine levels high.  Over two hundred officers and crew keep the structure and its facilities operational these are mostly low born Snow Raven freeborn and failed warrior candidates.  The central section is approximately ninety meters across by ninety in length.  It houses enough space for four hundred-and-fifty civilians, a Hyper Pulse Generator, a VTOL landing pad, hanger space for ten VTOLs, a fully kit out MASH facility and eight hundred-and-ninety tons of cargo.

Deployment
The Lum Habitat is deployed on Alpheratz the Outworlds Alliance Capital.  Within a month the crew of the structure had converted around an eighth of the available cargo space over to a freeborn school while on the upper levels a fenced area for open air sports was also created.

Whole structure:      VTOL MP2   CF:   80   Levels:      8
Crew       127      Officers      13

Overview
When Lynn McKenna ordered the Snow Ravens to create a new habitat for her lower castes living in the Outworlds Alliance the initial Enclave was launched however it was not intended to fly alone instead the Snow Ravens had built four additional structures to connect onto the main structure adding to their population and to the structures capabilities.

Capabilities
Smaller than the initial structure the auxiliary or “wings” of the floating enclave are capable of keeping up with the main structure in speed although they are smaller only sixty meters wide per one hundred-and-twenty meters long each part is eight levels deep.
Within the structure there is a Helipad and hanger space for ten VTOLs, quarters for four hundred-and-twenty 2nd class quarters, a MASH facility and five hundred-and-forty-six tons of cargo space.

Deployment
For each of the main “base plate” enclave four of these are also launched creating a four winged facility.  The first of these were launched in 3082 the last in 3084 creating a single completed habitat.  Much like the main habitat the crew and passengers of this facility converted almost a quarter of the cargo space over to a school and opened up much of the top area of the structure for an open air sports facility giving families room to expand and live.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.
