Overview
Following the introduction of the Impavido, the FWL Navy, with the full Support of the Word of Blake began an aggressive navy building program, aimed at making the FWLN the dominant force in space. the FWL initially set out to array their ships in task forces, based around a mighty Thera-class cruiser.  In 3065 SelaSys observing WarShip actions against the Clans and with other nations of the Inner Sphere suggested a need for a new class of ship.  The FWL navy was certainly a fine navy, however, they where designed with task forces in mind and in truth they had few ships well suited for independent operations.  With many lacking the large quantities of armour seen on designs such as the Capellan Feng Huang-class Cruiser, the Steiner Mjolinir-class Battle-cruiser or the House Davion Avalon-class Cruiser let alone the larger vessels being debuted by nations such as the Yamato-class Battleship from House Kurita or the heavy vessels of the Clans.
Indeed analysis indicated that the Fox, and its sister class the Hound-class, Corvette of the Federated Suns and the nearby Lyran Alliance actually mounted more armour then the Agamemnon Heavy Cruiser per ton and with a far greater reinforced structure to boot.  Although the Agamemnon could indeed destroy the Fox with its heavier weapons array it would be a tougher fight than it should in fact be.  With this in mind SelaSys proposed a new class of light cruiser, designed to operate independently for prolonged periods of time and to be a direct counter to the Capellans Feng Huang-class Cruiser away from the FWL task forces. After nearly six months of debate in Parliament the Budget for the construction of four prototypes of this new class of light cruiser was passed.
Then the Free Worlds League degenerated into civil war as Thomas Marik was exposed as a fake then killed along with half of parliament.  The Venturer Project seemed dead until the newly formed Marik-Stewart Commonwealth demanded a new type of WarShip to fill the gaps created by the losses of the Civil War and the vessels subverted by the Word of Blake before their destruction at the hands of ComStar.  Construction on all four Venturer Prototypes was resumed with the first vessel launched in 3075 named the Corrine Marik, the Captain-General who forged the Marik-Stewart Commonwealth and kept the nation together in the opening years of the Civil War.

Capabilities
The Intention behind the Venturer-class Light cruiser was that of a ship capable of operating away from supplies for a prolonged period of time, proceeding carefully throughout the design phase SelaSys kept this objective in mind throughout.  The ship measures a full nine hundred metres in length, double that or SelaSys's previous offering the Impavido class Destroyer.
The basic engine system is quite impressive while the engines can only achieve a maximum acceleration of 3 Gees which is average for the class the Venturer is in the assembly also contains a Lithium Fusion battery and fuel storage tanks for up to a YEAR of continuous operations.   This gives the Venturer near unprecedented range with only House Davion's Avalon coming close to its range capabilities and even the Avalon can‘t match the Venturer in other areas.  Added to this basic frame work is over a thousand tons of advanced Lamellor Ferro-carbide armour giving heavy protection.
The Weaponry systems of the Venturer are as impressive as they are well thought out. Designed around energy weapons with a small complement of Light Gauss Rifles and Naval Light Gauss Rifles for extra punch the Venturer packs a solid punch at all ranges.  Whereas most ships pack very little in the way of an extreme range punch, every capital scale weapon aboard the Venturer class can stretch out to extreme ranges, this allows the Venturer to get the first hits in on an enemy which can be critical in a battle.  The Venturer's primary weaponry is based around Heavy Naval Particle projection canons, backed up by Naval Laser class-55 batteries which is quite similar to the Lyran Hyperion and the Capellan Feng Huang providing the vessel with a chance against either vessel, the Light Naval Gauss arrays in the fore arcs provide a uniquely FWL edge to the firepower, these weapons are provided with plenty of ammunition.
The Venturer’s anti-fighter defences are quite heavy mounting several Extended-Range Large Lasers. While point defence is covered by four small pulse lasers in each arc.  During the development the vessel's weapons were modified slightly with an array of four Light Gauss Rifles, added to the fore arcs along side the Naval versions of the same weapon, a slightly greater punch in the fore arcs at the expense of a slight ammunition dependency however considering the Venturer’s ammo capacity for these weapons and the additional cargo space available this is of little concern.
The ship also supports it's own "mini task force"  carrying  six squadrons of aerospace fighters, six small craft (this can be used for another squadron of fighters) and forty marines almost exactly matching the Hyperion’s capacity and far outstripping a standard Feng Huang in small craft.  The Venturer also carries an amazing eight DropShips outstripping almost every modern WarShip in production for transport capabilities.  SelaSys has billed this DropShip slots as being the most important part of the design as they give the ship "unrivaled versatility" arguing that the ship can carry different DropShips based on its mission. They note for instance that equipped with eight Vengeance-class DropShips, the Venturer could even fill the carrier role of a Thera, for a limited period although finding eight Vengeance-class vessels in the FWL would be a miracle.
The design also carries ample spare parts, as well as an HPG transmitter, installed by former-Word of Blake technicians left over from before this faction's eradication and installed upon completion of the base hull. Unlike SelaSys's previous offering of the Impavido, the Venturer's heat dissipation system is quite acceptable, despite the nearly only energy armament. enabling the Venturer to engage multiple smaller opponents without a power failure, a feat not many modern or Star League WarShip designs can boast to.

Deployment
The FWLS Corrine Marik, the first ship of it's class began construction in February of 3068 but was not completed until 3075 due to conflicts within the former FWL.  Following six months of trials the vessel was cleared for service and work began on the other three vessels of the class the Venturer, the Cook and the Vancouver.
If these vessels are successful and survive contact with the enemy - something that the FWL plans to test extensively - four more vessels will be produced the Endeavor, the Discovery, the Voyager and the Enterprise.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

Would a spreadsheet work? Do you have HeavyMetal Aero? The set of stats that I sent to you awhile back I simply copied from the tech sheet in it.

No HMA I've always done them by hand but recently they've been really messed up
