Overview
   The first Vincent Davion-class Destroyer was based on the hull of the
Killing Blow, a Vincent Mk 42-class Corvette, that House Davion gained from
Clan Mountain Wolf, the Federated Suns had no need for another Corvette type
vessel but had seen their Davion III-class Destroyer surpassed by other
WarShips deployed across the Inner Sphere and so the Killing Blow was
redesigned as a Destroyer.

Capabilities
   The Vincent-Davion-class retains the Vincent Mk42's engines, HPG and
DropShip capacity but otherwise the ship has been almost completely rebuilt.
   The hull has been reinforced and re-armoured to make the Vincent Davion
competitive with other Destroyer classes deployed around the Inner Sphere this
has resulted in a WarShip that can absorb hits that the Davion III could never
absorb.
   The Vincent Davion is armed with four Killer Whale Capital Missile launchers
which have replaced the twin Barracuda launchers while eight class 10 naval
autocannons replace the four cannons on the original Vincent Mk 42 providing
significant forward firepower, all be it an ammo dependent one.Ten class 45
Naval Lasers are mounted in the arcs and directly rear rounding out the Vincent
Davion's capital firepower.
   Conventionally the Vincent Davion has sixteen each of Extended Range
Large Lasers and Particle Cannons and thirty-two Silver Bullet Gauss Rifles
which are used to defend the vessel against aerospace fighter attack.
   Defensively the class is defended by four Screen Launchers and twenty
laser based anti-missile systems.
   On-top of the two DropShips assigned to the Vincent Davion, there are
twenty aerospace fighters, four small craft and thirty-six Battle Armour
troops assigned to each vessel allowing the Vincent Davion's crew to repel
borders and assault enemy vessels.  A Lithium Fusion Battery Mk II and a
Naval C3 Computer rounds out the vessel's capabilities allowing it to move
quickly between systems and coordinate its attacks with other WarShips.

Deployment
   The FSS Killing Blow and FSS Vincent Davion were the first two examples
of the class and both joined the Federated Suns Navy in 3106.  The Federated
Suns Quartermasters immediately placed an order for further vessels.
   The development of the Vincent Davion-class has sparked a serious
rethink of the value of the Davion-class Destroyer and the current rumour is
that if Federated-Boeing do not do something about their design that future
orders of the Destroyer will be dropped.
