Overview
The first Galley was launched in 3074.  A product of a covert Marian Hegemony shipyard located somewhere in or near the Hegemony, the same one that renovated the Dart-class Caesar, this is a poor man's corvette, although labelled a frigate by the Caesar, is a respectable design, especially for a former bandit kingdom.

Capabilities
Mounting only eight capitol weapons, this ship is more suited to harassing JumpShips.  It is not known exactly where these weapons originated. Speculation has one of the larger powers providing them in exchange for germanium or maybe even salvage.  It is known that several dead warships, or parts thereof, ply the void between Hegemony systems.  Some reports have claimed a Diamond Shark vessel has been spotted on occasion.  Irregardless, only a poorly guarded JumpShip or thin-skinned warship need worry.
This Galley's main armament is in the form of two NAC/10's, one per broadside arc.  Backing these are five NL35's, with a Medium NPPC in the fore arc.  Power restrictions prevented placing more than one capitol weapon per arc.  A flaw that the Marians will probably correct, if given time.  Its secondary weapons are rather more for show than anything else, with forty Rocket Launcher 20 systems provide a decent one shot ability but are only really effective at point blank range where a hit is almost guaranteed, twenty large lasers are decent anti-fighter weapons but in today‘s environment are horribly out ranged, and a few autocannon for additional fighter and DropShip defence.   Finishing up, thirty small lasers ring the hull providing the barest point defence.
As a side point, the Galley can carry twelve Aerospace Fighters of its own unfortunately, unless the MHAF acquires new fighters and pilots, these berths will likely remain empty.  Supporting these fighters and the WarShip are two DropShips however again the Marian’s poor resources almost guarantees this won’t be assault DropShips found on Inner Sphere WarShips.
Although the structural integrity is very high for such a small craft-the Hegemony could only mount 179.5 tons standard armour.  A no-frills ship, the Galley mounts a single small gravity deck for eating and exercise areas and lacks both of today's naval standards an Lithium Fusion Battery system or an HPG.  Of note, the ship does carry a surplus of escape pods, perhaps the Caesar wants to make sure his crews survive if the vessel is lost.  But, more likely, the most of the pods are for keeping any ill-gotten booty safe.  Speaking of which, the ship can carry just over sixteen thousand tons of cargo and spare parts although it is doubtful the Marian shipyard could afford to produce such a quantity of spares especially with the need to keep the MHS Caesar operational the Marian‘s primary objective at present.  The 5,000 ton fuel bunker is almost a necessity in the Hegemony where it could be weeks between ports of call.

Deployment
It is unknown how much resources the Marian Hegemony will be able to devote to the upkeep of these vessels or how many Galleys are planned by the Caesar.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.
