"The Draconis Combine has every intention of ending hostilities. In the interim we will focus on eradicating the honor-less brigands that have plagued our borders and destroy the well-spring from which they have sprung. But first we are looking to reorganize our borders with our neighbors back to their 2750 lines, not including worlds liberated from the defunct Hegemony of course. Such lawless planets have benefitted greatly governed by the Dragon's wisdom, and our lost citizens have spent far too long in gaijin realms."

This is the second time in as many days where one of the Kapteyn powers has professed the intent to return the borders of the Inner Sphere to their 2750 extents.  That is what *checks his math* 275 years ago, 3 and a half entire generations of population turn over.  That would mean that the Great, Great Grandfather of the voting population of a planet would have been born perhaps under a different ruling nation, but not by much.  Very interesting indeed.  So this now is the official reason for launching this latest bloody war?  Lines on a map that is 275 years old?

*begins to look closely at the map of the Inner Sphere 2750*  It is almost comical my dear Tai-sa, but I think that the DCMS is going the wrong way, in almost every direction, and on every front.

"Perhaps you're right Ambassador. Maybe the Combine should be looking to expand elsewhere? There are old Republican worlds screaming for the Dragon's enlightenment."

Tai-sa.  I am merely trying to understand the reasons behind this latest war, that has to date cost millions of lives.  So far the reasons given haven't been that clear.

Is it now the Dragon's intent to expand? or to impose the Dragon's "enlightenment" upon other independent worlds?  You just mentioned restoring the borders of 2750, not more than a minute ago.

Forgive me if millions of citizens around the Inner Sphere including myself are confused.

Checking a few notes of his notecomp - turns to address the Outworlds Delegations

"Peculiar you would mention a "sect" or "faction" of the Order. Is there a reason for such cavalier accusations or just simple minded fears? Has ComStar's actions in the Alliance's past prompted a critical review?"

"Look to your own borders for answers Ambassador. I would not be surprised if the problem is closer to home than you think. When was the last time the Alliance search the Omniss of Dante?"
*Standing slowly and stepping out the Outworld alliance Seats, Jade walk out and turns to face the Delegate. 'Tai-i', you now infer that I am simple minded, with unfounded fears.  You ask where my suspitions are founded they were mere suspition, but gaining more ground as you Speak! You have given a small foundation to those 'fears' as you called them!
As to looking to our own Boarders; 'It Is' very good advice to all the Great Houses. As wide spread as it has been it is likely 'Not' pirates from one port!
*Reaching into her right breast pocket Jade pulls out two hair pins and sweeps the hair on either side of her head up and pins them up, revealinf the shaved areas that had been hidden!
Tai-sa, you being in the DCMS must know why the side of my head is shaved clear of hair. So it should not come as a surprise to learn I have been 'Looking to my own Broarders' and hunting Pirates! It may surprise you know I am half a leg short due to my Mech taking damage to the cockpit from a pirate! *bending slightly Jade raps the shin of her right leg, a solid thunk is heard. This uniforn is not a frock I wear to impress, I am with the out world Forces!
Shifting in his seat slightly and gesturing to both the Lyran and FedSuns delegations

To be clear Tai-sa! Jade pulls a small recorder from the left pocket of her Whipcord pants, these are your words in your own voice! "As for observations of Andrion-style plebiscites on worlds reabsorbed back into the Dragon's bosom, I believe our new Coordinator would view such a measure more favorably if the Commonwealth's Circinian acquisitions served as the archetype for future transitions. Should the Archon allow a ComStar delegation to report their findings and showcase the Commonwealth's honest dealings with the Circinian people I see no Inner Sphere power with the right to claim otherwise."

"After all, as the Mr. Holstein so eloquently put - the Commonwealth has nothing to fear, nor hide."

Can you be clearer as to your meaning of this! Please clear up the confusion for the Delegates assembled!

Tai-sa.  I am merely trying to understand the reasons behind this latest war, that has to date cost millions of lives.  So far the reasons given haven't been that clear.

"Forgive me Ambassador, as I'm sure other members of this Council have probably mentioned - state matters or reasons for conflict often fall solely under the purview of the state. However, I could provide an arbitrary reason for the latest war if you'd like. Perhaps we are seeking to preempt future encroachment from warmongering Davion and Steiner aggression? That would do nicely."

Is it now the Dragon's intent to expand? or to impose the Dragon's "enlightenment" upon other independent worlds?  You just mentioned restoring the borders of 2750, not more than a minute ago.

"As for expansion, I was only suggesting that if the Dragon is indeed "...going the wrong way, in almost every direction, and on every front", then perhaps the DCMS should be directly elsewhere. Perhaps to previously lawless areas of space..."

'Tai-sa', you now infer that I am simple minded, with unfounded fears.  You ask where my suspitions are founded they were mere suspition, but gaining more ground as you Speak! You have given a small foundation to those 'fears' as you called them!

Yawning

"Dear Ambassador, I would assuage your fears if such a trifling thing was required by your station. Since it is not, I can only applaud your grandiose show. It was a truly riveting performance."

"Instead, I can provide you with advice - Perhaps the Alliance should invest in an intelligence arm for right now you are not showing any. Or, better training facilities so future Alliance soldiers will retain the use of both of their legs."

"What I asked for, was clarification - as you had insinuated ComStar's complicity in the recent pirate attacks. If my inquiry caused your suspicions to "gain ground" as you so eloquently put it, then my apologies. Next time I have a question for the Alliance I will direct it towards the senior Ambassador and draw you a picture."

"As for your confusion regarding Andrion, may I suggest showing up to a Council Meeting on time and prepared? I'm sure your senior could provide you with the necessary reading materials and transcripts."

Turning towards Precentor Chase

"Precentor Chase, since the Outworlds Alliance representatives have no intention of supporting their veiled insinuations perhaps, as the Order's representative, you could alleviate the Ambassador's "suspicions"?

The senior ambasabor from the Alliance looks at her notes and standing addresses the DCMS Tai-i

'If the 2750 borders are so important to the Draconis Combine perhaps we could instead agree on the 2570 border being re-established as the new intersteller frontiers?'

'After all i'm sure the President and Alliance government, along on doubt with several other Periphery and Inner Sphere governments would be more than willing to return to them.'

Turning towards the Senior Outworlds Alliance Ambassador

"It would seem you are as uninformed as your lesser compatriot. The lapels on my uniform denote the rank of Tai-sa in the DCMS. You may address me by my formal rank or as Mr. Ambassador."

"That is, if you'd like the Draconis Combine to take the words of the Alliance seriously."

My, my are we a bit touchy on the rank subject Tai-Sa? I had assumed it was, at best, an honorary title as, with a new succession war breaking out, i had assumed all competent and able bodied military officers would be with there units rather than here talking with us civilians and retiries.

"The Coordinator does not send the Dragon's second best to deal with the other nations of the Inner Sphere - be it on the battlefield or in the Council Chambers. Surely, the use of Civilians and Retirees in official capacities must be why the Alliance has faired so well in its endeavors."

Then Talon Sergeant, he had Best call you back and send a lest Insalting Delegate! One that uses thier ears and inquires with intelligence, not bombastic prattling and name calling, like the base troops of the DCMS.

I extend my apology to all with in this August Council for the Dragons 'pet mouse' squeaking so loudly!

As to being addressed by you rank, live up to the title and you will hear it from my Mouth! Oh yes! I forgot as a woman my place is no hear but in the kitchen or husbands bed! That is the correct view of women in The Combine is it not? So hearing me speak you proper rank would be demanded weather you earned it or not!

Expanding his hands in a peace gesture

Ladies and Gentlemen, please.
I don't think that becoming angry and saying such niceties to each other will help us to achieve anything.

"If this is the case, then may I direct the delegates attention to the near projection screen?"

Ambassador Holstein clicks a remote and a map of the Lyran Commonwealth at the end of 2822 appears.

"If you will all notice the dotted lines signifying the borders at the end of 2750. Lines that are significantly deeper into Combine territory than currently the case. In order for the Combine to "gain back" the borders she had? She'd have to abandon a border to the line of Allghe to Alashain. Something tells me that will not be happening anytime soon. So I ask you Mr. Ambassador? As I asked your counterparts in our last session? Why can't you just admit you fools are playing yet another episode of "tantrums with war toys" and admit it, instead of hiding behind this convenient fiction. Returning worlds to the fold? They were NEVER a part of your fold. So, again, the Capellans and Mariks might be telling the truth, they have yet to make such outlandish claims as these...but you, you haven't. You left yourself wide open, Mr. Ambassador, and now people are dying and technology is being lost at a alarming rate because your leaders wanted a war."

"I'd remind you who made the peace offer of 3020. And I'd remind you of the late Takashi Kurita's response. If your nation was serious about peace prospects, you'd have responded favorably then. I would apologize to the rest of the delegates, but it is my opinion alone, that Tai-Sa, you sir, are a horse's ass."

"As you are under no compulsion to admit that the Commonwealth has gained Andrion or the other Circinian worlds dishonestly, or that your Archon has had no hand in the recent pirate attacks, I am under no compulsion to admit anything to you sir."

Ambassador Holstein, that is a picture I should not have had run through my mind.  A loudly squeeking mouse was hard enough!

To you Sir Draconis Ambassador! Why do you not calm down and Admit that all that is concering the Combines is Power and more Power.  You nation is being hit by the same 'pirates' or are they staged Vids! Forgive me for the dout if your citizan are dieing under attack by pirates!

My mind is a warriors suspitious mind! The attacks across the Sphere, in my mind could be a way to tie up resources of the Great Houses, to make an attack easier by one of the Great Houses to take systems and become more Powerful. It is well known through the Great Houses, House Kurita sees itself ruling as the First lord!
Ambassador for the Dragon, I....* low buzz sounds from the left breats Pocket of Jade's Tunic pradon me Ladies and Gentlemen I have need to answer this!

"Captain Jade Wolf......Yes Sir! But......yes Sir....no Sir it is not my intentions....yes Sir as you wish."
*Jades faces flush a deep red. She walks to where the Tai-sa is sitting, comes to attention, she perform a sharpe Draconian Salute. She looks the Ambassador in the eyes!" Tai-sa, I ask your forgivness for my allowing my temper to rule my mouth. I am but a Warrior in a strange Battle Ground!

Jade stands holding the Amassador's gaze!

"Better to be a Gaijin merchant helping to build the future than a blood soaked samurai snuffing it out? Or is the example of Kentares enough of a warning to the rest of the Inner Sphere of Draconis eloquence? Oh and by the way Tai-Sa, I can honestly say we had nothing to do with any pirate attacks you speak of. Ask the peoples of the Rim Collection and the Oberon Confederation what we do to pirates. We kill them Tai-Sa, we kill them all. Perhaps this would be a more worthy pursuit for the DCMS, we'd just have to worry that your forces didn't fire on hospitals or orphanages by mistake."
