Some notes

Welcome to the Nebula California described the complex system that was home to the Star Empire a binary system. They were mistaken (or at least that is how my story goes). It is actually a massively complex system with 5 Stars, and even 4 proto-stars. The scientists say it shouldn't really be possible, and there have been theories being thrown around about some DOME project to rearrange stars in a stable pattern. The truth is though, we don't really know how it came to be, but it is. There are thousands of stellar bodies in the system. Eventually we realized the locals aptly called the system 'The 'Verse'. The place was massive, once we had the full scope of it, thanks to IES Adean Dulcimer's scouting efforts.

I didn't think the system described in the book for this area was large enough. This is basically Star Wars ported into BattleTech, and a Galaxy Spanning IP needed more space, in my opinion. With the setup being basically one system per IP, I decided to borrow Firefly's system. As such the two IPs have been mashed together. You can download the map of the verse I am mostly going by (I reserve the right to change anything I want to fit how I want it to lol) here: http://firefly.wikia.com/wiki/ARC_of_the_Verse I am not it's creator, but I am glad they made it.

Picking up on radio chatter, we have learned a bit more about this place's history. The People's rebellion is not the first rebellion. A close to a hundred years ago there was another rebellion, The outer colonies rejected the idea of centralized government from the core. They were referred to as the 'Brown Coats' due to the leather dusters they wore. They lost, but ever since then any rebellion, no matter how large or small has been referred to as 'Brown Coats'. I wonder what they'll call us.

"In turn they tested each Clan namesake
in trial against the Ice Hellion's mettle.
Each chased the Ice Hellion, hunting it down.
All failed to match the predator's speed and grace.
Khan Cage smiled and said, "And that is how we shall be."

IP?

Intellectual property. For example Star Wars would be one, Firefly another.
