the Bulldog Medium Tank despite it's lackluster performance, has been a maintstay for Mercenary and Militia units for centuries. this trend was even more prevelant during the clan invasion as prestigous and elite front line units with large bank rolls were trading in the reliable albeit inefficent Bulldogs for designs like Challengers, Brutus, Typhoons and Schilitrons.
for the Lioness Combat Team, the Bulldog Medium tnak has been a mainstay of thier forces, owning as many as 18, and never fewer then 6. after Their 3072 rearming thanks to Hachiman Taro, LCT Engineers did the one thing that according to military critics made the most sense. they replaced the Turbine engine with a fusion power plant of the same size. this simple upgrade permitted the doubling of the bulldogs armor protection, and replacing the main gun from a large laser, to an extended range PPC (Courtesy of Panther re-downgrades).
The Lioness Combat Team uses six Bulldogs as part of their Third Battalion's Heavy armor Company. one of those vehicles "Lucy" is one of the original Tanks in the LCT inventory, and the last remaining piece of equipment from the units origins. the tank has proven unpopular compared to the Manticore Plasma Upgrade developed by their sister Peacemakers regiment. the EDF has declined to lisence the bulldog tank, leaving this upgrade rare and scattered throughout the inner sphere.

Me likes though part of me wonders if the ER PPC is worth it.
-
I wouldn't bother with it a standard PPC leaves you with 5 tons to play with you don't loose too much range
An ER laser gives you 5 tons and range with very little loss
IMO ER PPCs are wasted on combat vehicles

Offhand I like that. Maybe add another SRM rack then, or bump the 4's to 6's?

Something along that lines. Here's my take
ER Large Laser, 2 SRM-6 both Artemis equipped, CASE for long term survival of crew and a second turret mounted Machine Gun. All because there isn't a PPC and its extra sinks.
Biggest negative issue is the price bump

oh I like yours... ;D
as a little bit of background, I was experimenting witht he bulldog using Field repair and refit rules in strat ops, basically using recent salvage from a story I wrote and parts on hand from the setting (a DCMS military depot for unpopular and failed designs like Wolf Traps, Maulers etc.) hence why ER lasers were hard to come by.

That makes sense
