'Mech destroyer - how to cover their retreats
« on: February 24, 2021, 02:18:15 PM »

I was thinking about a 'Mech destroyer vehicle a bit like the tank destroyer of old.

The idea would be for a fast hovercraft with a big gun to lie in ambush, fire a few shots and then run away.

I envision them as having some SRM/RL facing their rear to prevent the fastest 'Mech to run on them.

Why do you think?
Or would smoke launchers do the job?

Guardian ECM? Anti-Missile System? I'd mostly just go all in on speed.

Weren't tank destroyers light on armor and heavy on firepower and speed in WW2? Sort of the old Battlecruiser model, right?

SM1 or Saladin I'd say ECM and AMS would be nice additions

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

I wanted to upgrade existing chassis so boosting the speed is not an option.
