Pike-B Medium Tank
« on: July 27, 2011, 03:45:03 AM »

Type/Model:    Pike-B Medium Tank
Tech:          Inner Sphere / 3025
Config:        Tracked Vehicle
Rules:         Level 1, Standard design

Mass:          60 tons
Power Plant:   180 Jones w. EmissionKill I.C.E.
Cruise Speed:  32.4 km/h
Maximum Speed: 54.0 km/h
Armor Type:    StarSlab/9 Standard
Armament:
  2 Armstrong J11 Autocannon
  2 Totschlagen SRM Quad Launchers
Manufacturer:  Canopus Industries Alpha
  Location:    Canopus
Communications System:  Magestrix Alpha
Targeting & Tracking System:  Magestrix Gamma

==Overview:==
Needing a cheap tank to supplement the MAF, the Magestrix asked Canopus
Industries Alpha to  modify the chassis of their Pike Support Vehicle for the
purpose.

==Capabilities:==
With two medium autocannon and two short range missile launchers, the Pike-B is
not the most heavily armed tank ever to take to the field but it can provide a
respectable threat to light and medium Mechs and armoured vehicles.

Speed and armour are average for its size and the Pike-B tends to suffer when
compared against battle tanks. However, it has proven sufficiently useful in
secondline formations to be produced in reasonable numbers.

That's more or less how it ended up. Mostly I just looked at a Pike and realised that 3 AC/2 weighed slightly more than 2 AC/5 and I know which I'd prefer...
