Light SRM Carrier (Fast)
« on: March 06, 2011, 06:01:48 PM »

Sounds innocent enough right? Its a little faster than a standard SRM carrier and packs less of a punch, but that isn't why your average despot(always a good customer base) is buying it.  They are buying it because when you load this baby up with fragmentation munitions in the launchers she becomes a broom that sweeps away those pesky infantrymen or peaceful protesters :)

Cheap, effective and good use of standard tech. It wouldn't last long on the modern battlefield, but perfect for its intended use.

Hmm, I'd like to get her going a little faster. What would a fusion engine do for her?

Depends on what kind of battlefield I think.  Toss a few in supporting an infantry action and I think they'd be ok.  Put them around real tanks of 'mechs and they'd die fast though.

Takiro - Going fusion I can get it up to 5/8 by dropping half a ton of armor or an MG.

Yup. I was thinking Modern Jihad-era Battlefield. SRM Carrier (Fast) = Yikes! Still, loaded with infernos or something of similar nastiness and maybe (in a metropolitan arena) this little bugger could hand some serious hurt before dying spectacularly.  ;)

Defeats the whole point of being cheap when you start adding bits like a fusion engine.

Agreed there.  That and I like trying to do lower tech designs, it is more of a challenge to me.

I'd agree with you both. Not fit for Line Armor service still it is a nice generic design for planetary militias. Might actually use it for a Succession Wars vehicle if you don't mind. Just need to fluff it out.  ;)

Always worry when rainbow 6 starts planning something. By the by for internal suppression duties this vehicle is great because it frees up your better tech vehicles for war if you have any.

Don't be worried, i'm always on the lookout for good equipment to introduce to the Outworlds Alliance's production in BlackNova's First Strike universe.

Would you mind if i did put it into production?

This Carrier is becoming quite the popular little armored treat.
