check your canon, the prowler has existed for far longer then the late jihad.  in fact it is an SLDF hostile environment vehicle.

I am aware of that.  To wit:

"WoB - Variant - The Word of Blake variant was built as a IFV, its cargo bay converted into infantry bay capable of carrying a full Battle Armor Level I or an even larger volume of normal infantry into combat. The weapons were changed to a MML Launcher supported by upgraded lasers."

I believe an article on the company forums clarified this: it features a 6-ton infantry bay, adequate to carry a six-man WoB BA squad.  I thought I saw mention of an 8-ton bay on Sarna and it is there - a Succession Wars variant.  That machine's BV is only 80 points less than the Gorgops Type IV Large Laser variant.  And the Type IV is still faster and capable of distributing smoke rounds.

The Gorgops fills a gap in 3066 (our current choice for era) and does it reasonably well, while fitting into a heavy vehicle bay.  I am looking forward to playtesting for further tuning.  Any other suggestions would be welcome.

I think History has shown otherwise with you.

What?  Be specific.  What are you talking about?

Maybe you can both avoid going down the path that discussion would lead to.

You know there is something wrong with the FWL, when Word's spell check changes Impavido to Impetigo and Zechetinu to Secretion.

Interesting discussion so far, let's not get distracted.  Prowler isn't that good, but the variant you just made seems more like a more efficient Goblin, less tank, more APC.  I think in a good way, since 1 ton infantry bay is quite pointless.  Overall, seems pretty solid.  Since it is a bit on the pricy side, it could be fluffed as semi-omni, with the main weapon of the large laser being fixed, but with easily modifiable secondary weapons, be it RL-10s, MGs, SRM-2s, etc.  The price tag to me indicates a BAFV (Battle Armor Fighting Vehicle) and not really a convention infantry IFV because you just cannot justify protecting/supporting near free cost infantry with such a pricy machine.  Pretty interesting overall though.

I was hoping you would weigh in on this.  You are like unto a god where infantry are concerned - I agree with you on this, although I did not know how cheap such infantry were.  I thought at least jump or motorized infantry would be worthy of such protection as well.
