Overview:
In response to requests from LCAF for a more durable scout tank (with more
firepower). New Earth Trading Corporation developed a new variant of the
classic Alacorn assault tank, replacing the tracks with hover-fans. LCAF was
reportedly quite happy with the design and had paid for a shipment of 400 when
Exarch Levin ordered the Fortress Republic policy. Lawsuits for a refund or
delivery (with punitive charges for the delay) are pending the availability of
someone to sue.
LCAF regulations have been put in place to stop the dangerous practise of
Commando pilots attempting to 'surf' on top of a Mk X Alacorn.

Hogarth-school of thinking as applied to tanks.

I love it when Hovertanks remind me of Renegade Legion Grav Tanks.  ;D

Hogarth-school of thinking AWESOME as applied to tanks.

Fixed your error there.

You know there is something wrong with the FWL, when Word's spell check changes Impavido to Impetigo and Zechetinu to Secretion.

Hard to call it an Alacorn with the ER PPC in there. They're traditionally ballistic-only.

That's why it is not called an Alacorn, it is called Super-EXperimental Ultra-heavy ALacorn

(I looked at 3 Gauss Rifles but decided that the 2 saved tons and not totally -wasting- the heatsinks was worth the innovation)

Well, there is also another problem there. Hovercraft don't go to 95 tons under Total Warfare rules. Their maximum tonnage is 50.

One way around this would be to create it as a Support Vehicle, which does have a maximum weight of 100 tons for hovercraft, or as a Combat Vehicle WiGE (80 tons). You may have to lower the BAR of your armor to get the desired coverage, but it will be legal and a bit cheaper in BV overall.

or like with Helicopers  in the TRO 3145 books you use the Super Heavy Combat Vehicle rules.

There are expanded rules for larger hovercraft it seems.
