    Primary Factory:

Targeting and Tracking System:

Overview:
Aimed at the mercenary market, Mitchell Vehicles built the Maverick from 3067
to 3079 although after 3070 virtually all their output went to the Word of
Blake Militia.

Capabilities:
Built around the realtively new (for military service) fuel cell engine, the
Maverick has a maximum speed of around 150kph and four tons of armour are
wrapped around it.

The armament is laid out for short, sharp engagements - once ammunition is
expended - probably in less than an minute - crews are advised to withdraw and
reload, which usually does more for their survival abilities than the armour.

Carrying a nose-mounted rotary autocannon, the Maverick supplements this with
four rocket launchers, mounted on stubby wings either side of the fuselage.

Battle History:
Deployed on Outreach, a pair of Mavericks provide extremely problematic for AMC
recon efforts since they were able to work together to wipe out scout lances
covering the approaches to Harlech.

A much less successful deployment was on Keid when four Mavericks employed by
the Coalition were blown out of the sky by a LCAF anti-air battery which
mistook them for an incoming WOBM airstrike.

Deployment:
Mavericks were commonly seen in the WOBM and associated mercenary units all
through the Jihad. Some coalition mercenary units also employed them although
friendly fire incidents winnowed down their numbers quickly.

Its weapons give it very limited battlefield longevity before needing to rearm but it's quick and very cheap. Nice design for its intended market. :)

Rac 2 with a single ton would give it the same effective firepower for anti tank operations, given that crits are more important then destroying a tank.  that might give you a chance for slightly more longevity and installing the gun on a chin turret or other ancillary equipment.

True, but they also have to concern themselves with light 'Mechs where the punch is needed. Also tempting pilots with longevity is a bad idea: they need to hit, unleash as much hell as they can and then get the hell away before someone blows them out of the sky.
