Recreating Tukayyid
« on: August 13, 2021, 03:30:05 PM »

Very excited to report that the gaming group is getting together again this Sunday to recreate a scenario from Tukayyid. One of the fellows is very interested in playing out a few scenarios which I am going to put together right now. Got to put together forces which should be interesting and I'd love to hear input on. He wants to avoid Wolf, Jade Falcon, and Smoke Jaguar as he knows their details from the novels. So it looks like Steel Viper (leaning this way), Diamond Shark, Ghost Bear, or Nova Cat. Wanted to ask you guys if there is anything you'd suggest or recommend. Of course I will keep everyone abreast of developments as they occur.

Ghost Bear, Diamond Shark, Nova Cat, Steel Viper are my interests in order. Might make DS higher just to see if avoid the horror they ended up with in canon

Flashback to Hloth

Just to update you guys on todays gaming fun. Over the course of eight hours and 10 turns we gamed out the scenario laid out in the new Tukayyid book (Teddy Bear's Picnic, page 78). I choose the forces with input from Bradshaw (Ghost Bears) and Gus (ComGuards) in a deliberate fashion to try and keep things smaller scale with a single game day of play. It did work out that way and I'll let Bradshaw detail some more for you. It was a lot of fun to have a new observer who may join our games this year and it was the first time since November 2019. Gus won a decisive victory in the end destroying three Bear Mechs at the cost of one. So ComStar won as they were supposed to but Bradshaw was close to evacuating three of his units which nearly won him the scenario. Details below!

A small opening skirmish between elements of the 20th Attack Cluster of the Ghost Bear Clan and the 91st Division of the ComGuards in the Hloth Forest near Luk on Tukayyid.

Star of Ghost Bear OmniMechs (Delta Galaxy)
20th Attack Cluster “Polar Bears / Chilled Death” (Clan Veteran)
Recon Fire Star (pg 28)

Mechwarrior Shelia, Veteran (2/3), Adder (Puma) A
Mechwarrior Jett, Veteran (2/3), Stormcrow (Ryoken) TCMechwarrior Hardt, Regular (3/4), Viper (Dragonfly) C
Mechwarrior Pasho, Veteran (2/3), Fire Moth (Dasher) A

Platoon of ComGuard BattleMechs (First Army)
91st Division “Vision of Words” (InnerSphere Veteran)
Heavy Battle Level II (pg 33)
Adept Abraham Theonas, Veteran (3/4), WHM-7CS Warhammer
Acolyte Raza Bhanja (Oriya Eastern India), Elite (2/3), WHM-7M Warhammer
Acolyte Karl Mattsen (Norwegian), Veteran (3/4), EXT-4D Exterminator
