Unit Profile: The Alpha Team - Mercenary Lance

With No ComStar for this AU they've gone slightly different

The Alpha Team
   A renegade SLDF lance from a unit that was framed for the massacre of gang members and civilians on Devil's Rock.  The unit went AWOL in early 3091 turning up on Westover in September of the same year they offered their services as mercenaries for hire to the Rim Association which was accepted.  Although they have had opportunities to expand beyond lance strength they have so far not done so instead each of the four MechWarriors each use highly customized BattleMechs which play to their MechWarriors strength.

The unit lacks transport capabilities of any kind but seems to be able to move at will using the most unconventional of transports.  Each of the MechWarriors is highly cross trained as commandos and technical staff adding to the questions surrounding exactly what they did for the SLDF.  Generally the unit relies on their employers for ammunition and spare parts however their Mechs are rarely if ever in bad condition.

What do you think of the designs?

The way I saw it Hannibal can take some hits and can call in some targets, a small unit like this needs stealth
Murdock is the weakest physically hence the composite structure, I was tempted to give it wings as well but your model didn't have it
Face needed a special face but again not the strongest under physical punishment.
An the Atlas, well it needed to be tough, it didn't need stealth armour but it did need a punch like none other.  Physically it can throw a 20 tonner although it feels undergunned until you see its a snub-nosed artillery piece  ;D

Think you have some of the designs backwards.

Hannibal would be the Battlemaster to me but the Cyclops could work as well. See his monster movie phase.

Face needs to have the prettiest aka sexist Mech and the Cyclops doesn't feel right to me. Warhammer was always my fav.

With a nickname like "howling mad" Murdock the Banshee fits well.

BA having the Atlas is a lock but getting him into the dropship is tough.  ;D

Seem fine to me. In all honesty, I painted them up out of spare 'Mech's and bits I had laying around and never really gave the actual configurations much thought.

I expected them to be a joke/throw-away reference, not a fully fleshed-out unit.

Hell, I created them as a joke/throw-away reference, playing on the obvious in-joke in the fluff for The Bounty Hunters:
