Just wrapping up the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns and I have divided the Regular Army of the AFFS into five Commands (National, Training, Regional, Independent, and Militia) which I think fits nicely. Also it sounds very Star League which is another theme of the pre-war Davion military.

And they would be in the National or in the Independent Commands?

Ice Hellion

So we have a total of 140 Regiments with only 51 able to be deployed in the whole Federated Suns.

Yes but in theory any of the Regional Commands can be moved around the Suns, its just the AFFS's senior officers don't want them too.

FirstStarLord

Considering we had so little to work on from the canon sources, I say everyone did a pretty amazing job on this. See you all on the Marik board.  Grin

Well many of the national formations will have been stationed at the same site for so long that they too will be hard to move. IIRC they managed to assemble some 50 regiments to invade the CC and that likely would have included CM district forces.

Good point CJvR and could this be another reason why the Davions chose an assault on Capellan space rather than Draconis space? Available Forces. The Draconis March has a total of 24 Mech Regiments naturally stationed therein while the Capellan March has 27 Mech Regiments. Not much of a difference I know but it is still something. The Syrtis Fusiliers weighing in at 6 Mech Regiments are a potent weapon that the Combine front naturally lacks. So the ease of assembling such an invasion force could be another reason for attacking Liao rather than Kurita.

Ice Hellion

So offensive actions would end on the shoulders of National, Training, Regional (as needed and depending on the area attacked) and Independent Commands?
Would the Militia Commands undertake offensive actions too?
