Detatchable Weapon Packs and Medium Battle armor
« on: April 10, 2013, 10:01:27 AM »

Hey kids!  I was screwing around with Battle Armor Construction rules of late when I came up with this odd little design.  my record for underoptimized but still moderatly effective combat platforms is well established, just see any custom I have made here.

anyway I created a Medium BA suit that backed a Heavy Recoiless Rifle on a 3 GMP motive battlesuit.  this reduces the ground speed to one hex, but at the same time gives some heavy firepower to a squad, including 8D6 against conventional infantry forces. (presuming a 4 man sqaud) it can still be carted around by Omnis and APCs as well.  but did I sacrifice too much?

are DWPs viable on a medium platform?

on another note what about making heavy or assault suits with Squad support weapons as well?

BattleTech products aren't Pokemon Cards. You don't have to catch, or collect them all.

WHAT NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THAT!

I generally think detachable weapons packs are ok for mediums if they are one shot

Mediums don't have the armour to move one hex a time even with stealth

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.
