Was thinking even more about this last night and I have reservations now about the Crusader, Cyclops, and Atlas. The Crusader while in Davion service might not be the most prevalent BattleMech in their service and so perhaps a replacement could be in order. The Cyclops and the Atlas might be too difficult to get for this Taurian unit with the Cyclops being even harder for them to come by then the Atlas in my opinion.

So for replacements we could consider the Wolverine and Cataphract which thanks to Capellan losses are coming in to Davion service more and more. Even less likely but would be nice for this unit would be cutting edge designs like the Axman and Caesar.

Most likely designs produced by the Federated Suns for some time like the Griffin, Phoenix, Wasp, and Locust would be the ones to fill these ranks.

Command Assault Lance
Battlemaster, Cataphract, Marauder, Centurion

Heavy Battle Lance
Warhammer, JagerMech, Rifleman, Blackjack

Mobile Battle Lance
Victor, Enforcer, Hatchetman, Phoenix Hawk

Support Strike Lance
Griffin, Dervish, Valkyrie, Javelin

It looks like a pretty Davion force but I am surprised you didn't go a bit heavier. I always think that Light Mechs are easier to produce but easier to destroy while Heavy Mechs take longer to produce but could be salvaged more easily.

I am an Ice Hellion  ;)

Griffin is more Lyran and a Battlemaster might be too heavy for the Taurian.

Regarding the Hatchetman and the Cataphract, I think they are too "young" as we wanted an unit that could have poisoned this side of the Inner Sphere for centuries, didn't we?

True enough especially for the Cataphract and the Battlemaster just might be to rare itself.

The Griffin is Davion too though. I still have the Wasp and Locust to include if you like as well.

I suppose if we can do a time line of the unit since the 3020s. That would eliminate the Hatchetman and you could see a progression over time.

I can work on a first draft (along my other top secret project :P and the Ostsol ;)).
When shall we make them start?

Hell we could go all the way back to before the Reunification War if we wanted. What do you think is most plausible?

I had the same idea. They could have taken the first 'Mechs/Vehicles/Aerospace Fighters from the battlefield and hide them from the invaders.

They'd have to be a somewhat secret and low profile unit to cover their existence for so long. Being of such small size would help in that matter. I think it makes sense that they've never been used for offensive operations perhaps until your late 3020 event.

Hatchetman could end up there after Little Richard forces arrive

Absolutely Doc!

I think we are developing the unit across eras. Hopefully Ice will get soon and we can develop it further.

ms to be unfit or corrupt governors or units. The people in the Capellan March believe that they are the ghosts of the 28th Avalon Hussars, coming back to make those acting wrongly.

Even for those loving a good old horror story, this does not make any sense as the 28th Avalon Hussars was a victim of the Kuritan onslaught of the First Succession War and its final grave is on Schedar where it met its fate during Operation Solar Shield.

However, the colours of the ‘Mechs are consistent with those used by the Avalon Hussars and each of these unidentified ‘Mech displays a coat of arm after a Round Table Knight, linking them somehow to the Knights of Avalon. What is strange is that although the coat of arms remain the same, the ‘Mechs they are linked to seem to change over the different battles.

From Myths in the Age of the ‘Mechs – New Avalon Press, 3043

June, 21st, 2785

According to our latest intel, the Taurian Defence Forces have decided to create an Aggressor unit (codename Minotaur), able to train their units in the tactics used by our forces.

We will further investigate this issue.

May, 1st, 2787

After further investigation, it seems they only managed to put together some of their units and paint them according to some of our colours.
Our agent in the TDF Headquarters managed to get a clear view of this unit in action and they are well below our standards and tactics.

May, 16th, 2825

Since the end of the 1st Succession War, the TDF seems to have focused on reinforcing its strength, disbanding any special or independent unit they might and giving priority to their front-line units.
I would therefore suggest closing once and for all the Minotaur file.
