==Overview:==
The McClellan APC is designed to deliver a platoon of soldiers to the combat
zone and provide limited support. Three machine guns provide covering fire
when the troops exit the vehicle, while the twin medium lasers allow the
McClellan to engage targets beyond the range of the machine guns and before
they become a threat to her cargo.
==Capabilities:==
The most notable thing about the McClellan is its use of twin meduim lasers
instead of an autocannon or missile system for the primary weapon system. The
required secondary systems, power amplifiers and heat sinks, reduce the
armament but also free it from ammunition dependency. This allows the crew to
take long range/low probability shots that will likely not hit but will often
force the target to seek cover, thus allowling the McClellan to
ensure the safety of her cargo.
==Variants:==
The sole factory variant of the McClellan removes the two meduim lasers and
the infantry compartment, replacing them with three turret mounted short range
missile racks. Intended to serve as close range fire support this version can
also serve as an adeqaute anti-aircraft platform.
==Deployment==
As with the Jackson light tank the McClellan can be found across the Inner
Sphere, often serving alongside it in planetary garrisons.
