Question?  for some, wouldn't later developments "Fill in the gaps?"

the Nova Cat or Septiscemia as Assailant's of thier classes for example, or a De Stealthed and DeXXL engined Wulfen as a Speedster?

We hit on that a little earlier JP. I'm trying to incorporate everything that could have been in development in 3052. The Society's Mechs are an interesting thing I'll have to consider. As the storyline is being changed significantly in Clarion Call. I'll take a look at the Wulfen.

Master Arminas how about this basic design rule for this exercise. Speedster OmniMechs will test the design limits of their chassis movement (max MP for tonnage) while Assailants and Zombies are to be -1 MP from that base. So for example 100 ton Mech would be equipped with 400XL, a 300 XL and a 300 standard engine respectively.

Modify the Wulfen by Removing the Stealth armor and using a conventional 300XL Engine and it would fit right into 3052.

Took a hard look at your suggestion JP but unfortunately the need doesn't exist at the 30 ton chassis. The Arctic Cheetah (Hankyu) at 30 tons with a 240XL (8/12/6), and 9.5 tons pod space fills the Speedster role for now and the Kit Fox (Uller) at 30 tons    with a 180XL (6/9), and 16 tons pod space fills the Assailant. Just need a Zombie now. I'll keep the Wulfen as a future replacement for the Arctic Cheetah (Hankyu). Thanks!

Hold your horses!!!!! No design entries yet. Save them for when the time comes.

Some questions left to answer.

1. What is overall name of our little project going to be?? (I've noted Ice's suggestion)

2. Names for the OmniMech types that match said project. (for example if we stick with Zombie would it be the Monster Program with the Vampire = Speedster and Werewolf = Assailant)

Okay lets talk Clan preferences before we wrap this discussion up. Like to hear your thoughts and opinions on what each Clan in 3052 likes to field of these 3 Omni types (6 Zombie Clans, 5 Speedster Clans, & 6 Assailant Clans). Give me the reasons for your opinion as well. Like existing Mech designs produced, engineered, or appearing in their touman. I've filled in all 17 with my feeling on how they stack up and remember this isn't a perfect fit folks as every Clan is going to have exceptions to the rules in its touman. Discuss!!

Blood Spirit - Zombie (starved for resources this Clan with its Blood Kite falls solidly here)
Burrock - Zombie (resources stretched despite some dirty dealings)
Cloud Cobra - Zombie (resource poor and developing the Stalking Spider)
Coyote - Assailant (looks like the Coyotes always prefer Pod Space on their designs rather than speed or protection)
Diamond Shark - Assailant (development of the Grendel and the presence of the Adder, Nova, & Mad Dog)
Fire Mandrill - Zombie (just from a resource point of view I've put them here)
Ghost Bear - Speedster (main designs like the Fire Moth, Viper, and Executioner put them in the Speed Demon philosophy)
Goliath Scorpion - Zombie (Second Line Mechs in Front Line service and Battle Cobra is favored Medium)
Hell's Horses - Speedster (speed trumps pod space here)
Ice Hellion - Speedster (duh on this one as this is the speed Clan)
Jade Falcon - Assailant (close call, excellent design mix between pod space and Speedsters)
Nova Cat - Assailant (looking over their designs like the Nova Cat I've concluded they like themselves Pod Space)
Smoke Jaguar - Assailant (kill or be killed makes sense they try to carry the most firepower)
Snow Raven - Assailant (just enough wealth to field Omnis focusing on Pod Space)
Steel Viper - Zombie (Crossbow and Battle Cobra both standard engines)
Star Adder - Speedster (the new Blood Asp tells me that this Clan likes the rapid assault provided by these fast machines)
Wolf -Speedster (under Natasha and Phelan getting rid of the Timber Wolf a speedster for a Linebacker more of Speedster)

Ghost Bears are Speed Demons. The Dasher, Dragonfly and Gladiator are thier Primaries, with the Main four Heavies being spread pretty evenly, favoring the vulture to a degree.  With what little we know about the Burrocks they seemed to be pretty variable due to lack of Resources, but favored big Hits on fast platforms.

JP given the evidence I'd have to agree with you on the Ghost Bears. I figured they'd be a Assailant (Max Pod Space for their Omnis) but they look to favor Speed.

Burrock I would tend to believe that they'd be a Zombie heavy Clan because of their resources even though their designs were said to favor mediums. Speed could be a possibility however.

Jade Falcon is a tough call. Their new generation of Omnis coming out is split between the Fire Falcon & Black Lanner (Speedsters) and the Night Gyr & Turkina (Assailants). Looking back at their pre-Tukayyid RAT we got the Kit Fox and Hellbringer (Assailants) with the Summoner & Gargoyle (Speedsters) as favored machines. With such a mix it is tough to choose one philosophy for the Clan but I'm feeling that they'd prefer more pod space than speed. So I'm going to place them in the Assailant category.

Research on Diamond Shark also splits between the Speedsters (Warhawk & Gargoyle) who max out their assault chassis speed and the Assailants (Koshi, Adder, Nova, & Mad Dog) who favor pod space on their lighter frames. The Grendel (or Mongrel if you prefer) is their latest Omni production model which interestingly enough steps down speed from the Ice Ferret (Fenris) for more pod space. So I'm going to place the Sharks in the Assailant category.

Cloud Cobra according to the RATs fields a bunch of Adders but nothing else is prolific. Given their resource situation and the fact that the Battle Cobra and the Stalking Spider appears in their front line touman I'm inclined to go with Zombie with Assailants them filling out.

Snow Raven despite their poor resource situation has many beneficial factors helping them enhance their touman. Their ever present merchants (probably Diamond Sharks chief competitor) and warship contracting deals with various Clans. Looking over their RATs their most popular Omnis seem to include Fire Moth (Speedster), Kit Fox (Assailant), Mist Lynx (Assailant), Nova (Assailant), and the Mad Dog (Assailant). Their assault RAT is split pretty evenly and includes a Kingfisher (Zombie). I do get the sense that the Clan has the resources and fits squarely into the Assailant OmniMech philosophy.

Goliath Scorpion not only does their Clan RAT from FM Warden Clans have them fielding many second line Mechs in Front Line service but with the Battle Cobra as their most prolific medium Omni and the Kingfisher appearing in their Assault I can only draw one conclusion. The Scorpions may have the poorest RAT for the Warden Clans which places them firmly in the Zombie camp despite some excellent designs by Master Arminas. I would find it a real feat for them to field Speedsters such as you designed my friend. Just don't have the resources. That being said I like your designs and would still like to use some for this project.

Burrock has no RAT that I can find but their situation places them in the Zombie area in my view.

Hell's Horses I almost forgot. Looking down their RAT they have four favorite Omnis - Fire Moth (Speedster), Stormcrow (Assailant), Timber Wolf (Speedster), Warhawk (Speedster). Going beyond that and looking at the rest of their Clan make up I feel that Speedster is proper designation for their touman. It isn’t as close as Jade Falcons either. Speed trumps Pod Space here.

What do you guys think??

No problem, Takiro.  A while back, I had an idea for second-line/garrison OmniMechs . . . all with standard engines, ala the Battle Cobra and Crossbow of Clan Steel Viper.  The squeeze on pod-space makes them ideal for Clan Goliath Scorpion (which prefers energy and, alas in this case, ballistic weapons with a targeting computer).  I'll post them a bit later . . . I have five designs:  a 30-tonner moving at 8/12/x, a 40-tonner moving at 7/11/x, a 45-ton tonner moving at 6/9/x, a 60-tonner moving at 5/8/x, and an 80-tonner moving at 4/6/x.

Fits your Zombie category, I do believe and provides for low-cost OmniMechs.  I selected those tonnages because those are the ones that give me the best combination of pod-space and armor protection.  Still, the 30-ton 8/12/x design barely manages to fit 5.5 tons of pod-space . . . and there ain't a whole lot you can do with that!
