LTV-5 Hovertank

This vehicle idea was born from the back story for the Manticore Plasma.  if Elysium engineers retrofitted Manticore turrets with new weapons, what would happen to the spare weapons.  Missiles were easy enough, mount them on mechs, but the PPCs posed a problem since early on we were gonna make ERPPCs our standard gun.  XTRO Primitives gave us the solution in the guise of the LTV-4 Hover tank, which we adapted into the LTV 5

Reminds me of my Mitchell Attack Hovertank for the Terran Republic with its PPC/ SRM loadout. Nice job!

Ideally I would name the vehicles some variation of the word chariot or carriage, but Merkava has already been taken.  I am looking at Russian, French, and Italian for other ideas.

I considered Troika, but wanted to avoid overlapping with the aerospace fighter of the same name.

Chariot in hungarian is "szekér" according to Google Translate.  Sounds kinda cool.  If possible, your streak 6 shoudl be 3 streak 2's, just reduces damage variance turn by turn down to a more consistently level. 

Edit: Also consider large laser instead of PPC for adding TAG, which is awesome sauce in a combined arms environment supported by A4 homing and copperheads.

It may just be me, but this seems somewhat lightly armored.  Is that intentional?  What's the track record for something that moves 9/14 and carries 5.5 tons of standard armor?  Do they last very long in combat?  Nice warload, but... huh, guess I would have to see it in play to determine whether the armor protects it adequately or not.

I dropped the speed from 9/14 to 8/12 and found myself with 4.5 tons - put into armor, it rounded out to 10 tons, which seems pretty good.  Or is that too slow for the mission profile?  I didn't notice one mentioned, but I was skimming.

in a bout of laziness to update the LTV 4 I merely transferred over the identical armor coverage to the LTV 5 no attempts were made to improve overall protection, instead focusing on maintaining the Fusion engine and enhancing accuracy and firepower. 

I can say from playing with the LTV 4 which sports a 7/11 speed that it is fairly survivable and the turret is what makes the vehicle a powerhouse.

in hindsight were I to improve the armor I would downgrade the Streak system to a standard SRM pack and add more plate.  ditching the CASE for an extra half tone would not hurt either since the standard SRM rack does not conserve ammo.  as it stands my Elysium Project is undergoing a massive rewrite as far as the EDF.  I am changing the Initial Jihad technology level to Retrotech not because of technological degradation, but a choice of economies of scale.

also I have tentatively renaming this vehicle the Gungnir after the spear of Odin.
